Shout out to Lyle O’Brien, East Aurora native on great year in the marathon. Goes under the radar! Finished 18th at the Olympic Trials marathon and recently finished 7th at Grandmas Marathon ~2:13:56. Hard work pays off!
I'd like to see both of you continue to excel. Mark Finucane holds the record for the fastest marathon time by a WNY runner at 2:11 leading up to when he qualified for the 1984 US Olympic Marathon Trial. For that performance, and a stellar HS, collegiate and post college career, Mark was inducted into the WNYRHOF. Hopefully one day we will be considering your applications for induction.
