Who is the guy that ran 14:42 at st Greg’s? Never saw that name before. 14:42 has got to be one of the fastest 5k times locally ever. And why the separate age group? Mistake?

Thanks for spotting my typo JR. We were fortunate to see Michael Brannigan run with us locally before. He won the Veterans Race in 2020 in 15:27, with a substantial lead. He also appeared at the Niagara PAL Santa Dash in 2022, which he won in 15:08, also with over a minute lead.

Great stuff, after reading that article and his last words of hoping to make the Tokyo 2020 Olympics gave me a double flashback back to the 2000 Rat Race 5K the time's we're about the same and the two runners who could have been from Tokyo.
I also remember trying to congratulate them after the race and them not speaking English just looked at each other and laughed at me.

I was also there, Pat, and those two runners, both of whom shocked the hell out of me with their unbelievable performances, turned out to be members of the Japanese Olympic Team, who were just pssing through town. It was an amazing experience which I will never forget!
