The course was long---they took it off the canal path because the state told them so--the race director told me that he measured the course at 3.18 miles. He measured 3.1 from the start line to the start line, forgetting that the finish line was further back towards the road. As you know, there is nothing worse that an inaccurate course, but this was understandable considering that they had a certified course that they couldn't use.
