I hope to see many of you at the race tomorrow. Unfortunately, it looks like this will be my last race for a while. I just can't get past this latest round of injuries.

The specialist at UBMD suggested surgery as the only real remedy. That would require severing the quadriceps tendon and reattaching it. I'm reluctant to go that route at the moment.

I had really been looking forward to racing well this year, in my new M60-64 age group. So it's particularly disappointing. At this race last year, I bounced back from a four-month injury layoff and set my lifetime age-grade score. I was hoping for a similar comeback this summer, but no luck.

In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing a few of you folks in Buffalo tomorrow evening. Say "hi" if you see me limping around! :)

Happy running, everyone.

Rano

Sorry to hear that, Allen. You ran a nice Run716 earlier in the month. If I see you tonight at the HOF, I'll introduce myself.

Thanks, Rano. Sorry I missed you last night. It was my first, and likely last, race as a 60-year-old. I arbitrarily set "last year's time plus 2 minutes" as my goal. I achieved that with seven seconds to spare!

It was a good evening. I met some new folks, chatted with old friends. Enjoyed a couple beers. A very nice event. Thank you, Bill Donnelly and all the volunteers!

Congrats to everyone who raced, especially Jim P, Amy F and Sam L for some stellar 50+ and 60+ results. Wow! And 17:04 for the M55-59 win?! Amazing.

I'm going to investigate surgical options, get back to some PT work, and go from there. Best wishes to everyone. Have a great fall racing season.
