Why are the Canadians so fast? The Canadian races seem to be faster on average than races on this side of the border and when the Canadians come to our races, they are FAST.

I understand that the Canadians who travel here are serious about racing but what about the races over there. Is there something in the water?

How about the New England area? Check out the results from our USATF Grand Prix series 5k. A 5:37 pace didn't even get you in the top 100.

Their are still some fast runners in Buffalo but with the number of races we have these days we donít always notice.Once in awhile you will see a race that produces some 15 and 16 miniute 5ks but then you also see where 19 miniutes could also win a race which wasnít the case years ago or probably doeanít happen in major running cities.

More people running, less of them training. It takes training to run fast times. Most are just running and some, all they do is race. Jose Quiros as an example/. Not a knock, just a fact.

Back in the day, there were less people racing, but those that did, ran faster times because they trained.

It is what it is.
