Hmm, Italian? Not exactly Gelindo Bordin but I suppose technically he's Italian. The Venice Marathon is BEAUTIFUL by the way. The scenery, the dramatic finish along the Grand Canal, the amazing architecture. Definitely worth the destination marathon consideration.

Hey,

buffalogal: Yes, it definitely isn't Gelindo Bordin. On the other hand, it sounds like you have run the Venice Marathon - when?

Regrettably, I have never run it (don't have the fiber for such a long race) but know many people who have, including my husband, who ran the debut race back in 1986 and probably 10 more after that. The finish line sits right outside the front door of the house we have in Venice (spent 17 years in that beautiful city).

Speaking of "locals" (at least to Venice), for those who don't know who Gelindo Bordin is, you should: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelindo_Bordin

Seventeen years in Venice - Wow, I'm envious!
