Hello all-

The 42nd Lockport Y-10 is on Saturday, February 9, 2013. The race starts promptly at 10:00 AM in front of the Lockport YMCA. Follow the link below for complete race information and registration. The Score This!!!, Inc website has changed so be sure to follow that link for the best results.

http://results.score-this.com/y10.html

At this time shirt option has been removed from the online registration form so that I can guarantee that all of the preregistered runners get the shirts that they requested. If there are shirts remaining after the race they will be made available for purchase for a low low price.

Here are some notes to help you on race day.

Registration begins at 8:00 AM. Arrive early.

This is a ChampionChip timed race by the good people at Score This!!! Please pick up your chip in the gym after you register.

The Lockport YMCA has showers. Please feel free to use them after the race.

The shuttle buses taking relay runners to the halfway point will be leaving the YMCA at 9:45. They will be located in front of the YMCA. They are big and yellowish.

If you plan on driving to the 5-mile mark (and we strongly encourage you NOT to do this please) park on the NORTH side of the road. If you do not a volunteer or a NCSD deputy will ask you to move your car.

There is one waterstop at mile 5 just after the relay exchange. It will have water. Please plan accordingly.

There will be post-race adult beverages following the awards ceremony at Lock 34. It located just a block and a half from the YMCA. You don't even have to move your car, but you will need to have your race number.

The Lockport Y-10 disrupts normal Saturday activities in Lockport. We ask that the runners consider giving back to the community. This can be done in two ways. We will be collecting peanut-butter, jelly and Fluff for a local food pantry.

We will be accept your old running shoes and gently used winter clothing for the St. John's Community Outreach Center located near the race course. You may bring all of these items with you to registration on Saturday.

I think that about covers it. Thank you for considering the Lockport Y-10 as apart of your running and racing schedule.

The forecast I'm looking at shows 16 degrees at race time, 13 mph wind from the north, 2 degree wind chill, and flurries.....PERFECT Y-10 weather!

Looking forward to it.

I just got off of the phone with the good Mayor of Lockport Mike Tucker and he said that the City will be ready to rock and roll tomorrow morning. The crews will be out all night taking care of the course and the rest of the city. The Mayor will be at the race in the morning. Be sure to thank him and if you see any of the streets department trucks out there give those gentlemen a friendly wave. Registration begins at 8:00 AM and the race starts at 10:00 AM. Tell your friends.

Sure the weather may have thrown us a curve ball yesterday, but the plow drivers from the the City of Lockport, Town of Lockport and Niagara County Highway Department knocked it out of the park. The roads were mostly just wet. The winds were light and the sun even peaked out from time to time.

Runners didn't believe when I told that the roads were in good shape before the start of the race.
