any one know? I have pain on the front of my shin, alittle above the ankle, mainly hurts when i move my big toe or curl my toes in ward. on a scale of one to ten its about a three and about a six when i run. It happened today when i was going attempt a 15miler and cut it short to 7 because i did not want to further injure myself.....Is this a shin splint? Im 27 years old and been running since high school and never experienced a shin splint before. I'm hoping its just a pulled muscle, because from what i read that heals faster.

thanks

A shin splint is a general term of any pain in the leg, between the ankle and knee. The more specific mechanism of injury is up in the air. You could have a stress fracture, medial tibial stress syndrome, or a simple overused muscle that needs a few days to rest. How's it feeling now?
