I am just curious as to what happened with the results at this magnificent race yesterday.
It was initially announced that a female had run a 15:55 and was the overall winner. That was soon corrected by one of the runners.
What happened? Did some one wear an incorrect bib/chip? I feel for the gentleman who won overall. I don't think his name was ever announced.
If this is the fault of the runners mixing up bib numbers, shame on them. If it was a result of the race/timing administrators. shame on them
I am also curious why, once again, the times on the finish line clock and my watch (which I stopped after I crossed the line) were at least three seconds faster than the time given on the results page posted. I fail to understand this discrepancy. I mentioned this in a post over a year ago.
My concern is for an athlete , especially an older one, who may set some type of a national/age record. The valuable precious seconds may cost some one a world record.
Once again, I can not say enough about this wonderful race. It is great year after year.

Hi Jeanne. I can answer the first question for you. The overall winner was Patrice Cranley. Despite identifying himself on his entry form as male, he was entered into the scoring team's database as female. When the awards were announced, he came forward and clarified that he was indeed male. Members of the scoring team were still in attendance to address situations like this and quickly rectified the error. Maura Tyrrell was then designated as the overall female winner and the age group awards were adjusted on the spot as well. Hope that clears it up for you. And thank you kindly for the nice words about the race.
