When considering a race, do you like having the option of paying a reduced entry fee for no swag (T-shirt, glass, bag, etc.)?

If so, are you likely to choose that option?

Unlimited Sahlen's, decent pizza and cold beer will work.

It is good to have the option to swag or to not swag for a reduced fee.

It really depends on the event/swag design and how much the fee is dropped. If the swag was a long sleeve, dri-fit shirt with a cool design for a run in my town, I would opt in to the swag. If the savings is only $2-3, I would probably take the swag.

What can I say? Personally, I kind of like swag. I like an award medal but definitely don't want a finisher's medal. I don't eat or drink much of anything after a race - my stomach is usually too queasy for beer or pizza - but a banana and water is appreciated. The cotton shirts I could live without but I like a nice dry fit shirt.

It would be nice to have the option for those who don't like swag to pay less and do without but I always assumed that t-shirts and stuff are donated, so paying a reduced fee would really mean donating less to whatever cause is sponsored.

Definitely. I would always choose the reduced fee, if available. I guess if you are a newer racer then the shirts come in handy but my drawer is stuffed already. I also don't appreciate finisher medals of any sort but I do have a nice Mr. T like collection in the basement.

I would gladly pay less. I do not need any t-shirts,etc.
I also do not want/need a finisher's medal for any race under a half marathon. Even then I don't take one.
Maybe this can be an option as well.
