JF, do you just make posts to stir the pot? It seems like you just want to post topics that on the outside appear to be legitmate but are only done to cause trouble or as I said "stir the pot".

I think that we've beeaten this one to death. Too many race and not enough good runners so times are slower.

JF, I encourage you to keep posing legitimate questions, challenging the status quo, and otherwise stating your opinion. This is after all, a forum for doing all those things. Whereas some forum members would just apparently only want to read touchy freely comments, which is perfectly fine, I like some spirited dialogue, even if it bothers some.

I find it bothersome to be touched freely by forum posters whose only intend is to stir the pot with the same old spoon and in the same direction without first proving thy worth by running a Marathon in 80 degree heat nursing a pulled hamstring after months of arduous training and sacrifice including the renouncing of alcohol.

That's meta for you to say.

I don't post to stir the pot, though many might feel that way. I thought JR's comment said it best....to provoke thought....and hopefully some good discourse. I didn't knock anybody, I just stated an opinion/thought/question based on results that I saw online for local races. The fact is that times for races are slower than they were in the past....that's a fact based on results. The best thing about running is that there is very little subjectivity. The faster you run, the better you do; there is no judging, no voting by the media, etc.
My fellow Islander, Mr Figler was prompted to respond, which is one of the reasons why I think my posts out, to get people involved. And, I guess when I or somebody writes a post that gets three pages of replies I find that pretty cool----yeah, I need to get out more---I know. Even though I didn't like/agree with Figgie's post, I'm very happy that he was moved enough to fire off a comment. Well done.
I work in an industry that sadly shows the "not so good side of Americans." Many are nice, but many are let's be fair, not the brightest. I know I'm not that bright of a person, but I always found runners to be a cut above the average intelligence, certainly bright enough to handle posts from me.
As always, Happy Running from XXIV

BTW, I plan on being at the Autism 5K in Hamburg next week. Hopefully, it won't downpour like last year. Hope to see some of you.
Is that exciting or what.
